Chino

Stallion, 5/31/02, Grey, Holstein, DE-421000280302, 17 hands

Chino caught our attention with his amazing scope during the stallion approvals in Belgium.  He has been under saddle for three months and is living up to his pedigree.  His gallop is reminiscent of his grandfather Capitol I, very strong and powerful.  He has a very sweet character.

His sire, Cassini I, represented Germany with Franke Sloothaak in several Nations Cup competitions.  Because of the quality of his offspring, like Cumano with Jos Lansink who won the 2004 Grand Prix of Calgary and was on the Belgium team in the 2004 Olympics, and Cocu with American Molly Ashe, Cassini I’s semen is highly in demand.

His mother’s father Calando I by Cor De La Bryere, won many international classes himself. The daughters of Calando have been very successful as mothers of sport horses.  A few examples are:  Carthago, Lord Z, Canturo and Locarno to name a few.  His also comes from the impressive line 1947 which has produced international jumpers including Conejo, shown successfully throughout Canada and the U.S. by rider Karen Cudmore. Conejo, a very competitive and tough horse, probably showed in more grand prix than any other American horse in one year.  His grandfather Laertes is by Ladykiller XX who is known for producing horses with super rideabilty and was a foundation stallion in Holstein.  His frozen semen is available through Windsor Farm at WindsorVa@aol.com.
