Canezaro

Stallion, 5/01/01, Bay, Holstein, DE-4210000037901, 16.2 hands

This very expressive son of Caretano has a modern conformation.  His compact body and practical way of moving are clearly stamped by his sire who was on his way to the top as a world-class performer with Jos Lansink when he met an untimely death. As a seven year old, sire Caretano won champion in his age group at the World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken, Belgium and was in the World Cup finals in Gothenburg.    Canezaro himself resembles his father more than any of his offspring.

Canezaro’s very good canter allows for an optimal way of jumping with a superior style, classical technique and extraordinary ability. Canezaro is always attentive and willing to do his best.  He is a great show jumping prospect of very elegant type.  He is currently in full training with Thomas Voss (Germany), and is living up to all expectations as a young jumper.  In his first shows with Voss, he already is placing in young horse competitions.  Windsor Farm bought him during the Holstein stallion approvals as an approved stallion.  He subsequently did his 30 day test in Germany where he was number #1 for jumping.

His whole pedigree has an accumulation of one great jumping stallion after another:  Caretano, Caretino, Contender and Lavall I.

His mother Montana V is a state premium mare.  She comes from the mare line 6605.  From this mother line, come the stallions Ludwig and Lionel.  Also we find a large number of competition jumpers who have jumped successfully at both the M and S levels. A few of the known horses from this line are  Cromwell, Champ of Class II, Camiro XV and Phaenomen.  Besides jumpers, there are some grand prix dressage horses including Domino 408.

In his first year as a breeding stallion, one of his foals was selected for the famous Dutch auction Prinsjesdag, the most prestigious foal auction in Holland.  His frozen semen is available through Windsor Farm at WindsorVa@aol.com.
